Description:
El Sombrero cuticle is dark brown with easily removable, it is usually glutinous or sticky. What characterizes this species is the presence of a ring on foot to the top is white but that mature becoming darker.


Habitat : is a species that in Chile only associated with radiata pine forest and therefore shares habitat with the Boletus granulatus with which is often confused. This fungus is known by the name "Pine Callampa and it appears some weeks after B. granulatus.

Edibility: Edible fungi is a very good flavor when cooked without the cuticle. This species is collected in a very intensive in autumn and winter and that is processed or dehydrated to export to markets in the Northern Hemisphere.
