Fade Red In Blemishes

British Brimstone missiles object of desire of Americans and French

U.S. and France want to equip its fighter aircraft with British Brimstone missiles, used with great success in operations in Libya in the past two months.
The Brimstone was initially developed as an updated version of the U.S. Hellfire missile, developed by Boeing to meet the requirements of the British Air Force anti-tank missile long-range requirements arising from the evaluation of performance in UK first Gulf War. For what at first was going to be like the British missile with a search engine (millimeter-wave radar) and configured to be launched from aircraft and not just from helicopters or unmanned aerial vehicles. Hellfire currently only has the general shape and weight (48.5 kg).

The Brimstone missile is a "fire and forget", in which data is loaded by the target of official weapons systems before launch. It is programmable in accordance with the needs of each mission, including the ability to locate targets in a certain area and destroy itself if it is unable to locate the target in the designated area. It has a double burden hollow double tandem, which uses a smaller initial load to start the reactive armor, followed by a greater burden with greater capacity for destruction, designed to penetrate armor.

three years ago, the United Kingdom added a double form (radar and laser) the missile which also allows you to find the target, determine the point of impact to cause maximum damage, and because a plane can carry twenty-four missiles, target acquisition system requires an algorithm to ensure that the missile hit its objectives in a phased manner and not simultaneously on the same target.

In Tornado, a special pitcher with three Brimstone missile is set to one of the anchor points of the plane, and the launcher can also be used in the Eurofighter.

The Brimstone had been unable to confirm its efficacy to use in Afghanistan and Libya, with particularly impressive performance, so it has attracted U.S. and French interest to use it for its effectiveness against vehicles.

As a side effect, its success is causing its failure. Have been so successful in Libya, which the British Air Force is running out of missiles, not because stocks are dwindling, but because if continuous operation in Libya for several months, the UK will have to acquire new missiles to maintain reserves of g uerra Brimstone missile.
